Hello everybody, my name is Madeline Cain and I am your 2023 Vinton County Jr Fair Queen and Ohio Fairs Queen 3rd Runner Up. Over my reign I have had the pleasure to visit many beautiful places and meet some extraordinary people, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without some amazing people at my side. I would like to thank the following people: My sponsor for the pageant JCON Construction. VC AG Society for my crown, sash, and scholarship. The Queens Committee for my pass down pin. Delight Ward for my trophy. The 2018 7th and 8th grade attendant Madyson Zimmerman for my charm bracelet. And the Mill House for my bouquet. All of these people made it possible for me to be an amazing queen. I’d also like to extend a thanks to my Mom, my Aunt Sam, my Aunt Jenn and my Mimi. These women have supported me through my reign and always helped me look and feel my best. My next thank you is for the Fair Board and the Jr Fair Board, who showed me the upmost support at the OFMA Competition. Finally to my court, without them this year wouldn’t have been as amazing. I cherish every memory I have made with them. Thank you all.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. My name is Jasper Champion and I am the first ever Vinton County Junior Fair King. First off I would like to thank all of the families that helped with this year's court. Especially Jayne for picking me up several times for parades and luncheons and Jacob for the last minute calls to pull the float. Thank you to Dr Arthur Huntley for sponsoring me in the pageant and the Vinton County Ag Society for my cowboy hat, sash, and scholarship. And a special thanks to my mother Marie Champion for donating her time and efforts for the court pictures. Now on to the court. The 3 younger girls, Anaka, Hailey and Abby. Thank you for making every parade fun and making us laugh. The 3 older girls, Madelyn, I didn't know you when we first started but I have found out you are very funny and I know you're going to do awesome things in life. Olivia, you were one of if not the most chaotic person on that float, the best memory of any parade was you jumping over everyone and manhandling that generator mid parade because it shut off. Maddie, you have been the best Queen a King could have. From you making sure we were all together for pictures to placing 3rd runner up at the state fair pageant. Thanks to all the court members for making this a fun year. For the last time my name is Jasper Champion and I will always and forever be the first ever Vinton County Junior Fair King.

Hello everyone, my name is Olivia Schroeder and I am your 2023 Vinton County Junior Fair 1st Attendant. First I would like to start out by thanking my sponsors, the VC Ag Society for my crown, sash, and scholarship, my pass down pin sponsored in memory of Lisa Hagerty, my trophy sponsored by 2013 queen, Lauren Hopkins, my charm bracelet sponsored by 2018 7th and 8th grade attendant, Madyson Zimmerman, the Mill House for my flowers on the night of crowning and Poked and Polished for sponsoring me in the pageant. Going back to crowning night when I heard my name called, I was so excited to see what this year would hold for me but even more excited for the friendships I knew were to come. Also when getting crowned, it gave my brother, Jacob, a job and I can’t thank him enough for the amount of times he pulled the float for us and for putting up with me and my attitude. This year has truly been one to remember and it doesn’t feel like it should be over yet. Time on court truly does fly so take as much of it in while you can.
Finally, for one last time, I am Olivia Schroeder, your Vinton County Junior Fair 1st Attendant, Thank You.

I never expected to be on the Fair Court, but I am so glad I am! Ever since I was young, fair to me was all about the animals. But being on the court has changed my perspective for life, it has given me many opportunities to meet new people, and friends and experience events and places I might not have before. I recommend it to any 4-H’er, being on the Court will change your life. I would like to thank my family for always being there for me and helping me along the way. My fellow court members, for always making me laugh and making my experience fun, For the last time, I am and forever will be your 2023 Vinton County Jr Fair 3rd and 4th Grade Attendant. Thank you and God Bless!
Our very own Maddie Cain had the opportunity to compete at the state level at the Ohio Fairs Queen Competition. She had the best time and represented our fair phenomenally! We are so proud of her and all of her accomplishments so far!
In January of 2024 I had the privilege to represent our great county at the Ohio Fairs Queen Competition. The first day I arrived at the competition I had a meet and greet with the other queens in the evening. The next morning was my interview. The interview was ten minutes long and consisted of questions based off of my application. After the interviews you had the chance to walk around and get some food. During this time I got to meet and hang out with some other Queens. Later that day was a walk through of the on stage portion of the competition. After that they had an optional dinner. I attended the dinner and got to spend time with some of my court members, family members and members of the Fair Board. When the dinner was over I went to my room and got ready for the onstage portion. The first part of the onstage competition allowed all 78 competing queens to introduce themselves. Next they announced the top 15, which was decided off of the interviews that morning. I was fortunate enough to be announced. Next the top 15 Queens on stage were given a word and were supposed to say what that word meant to them. My word was kindness. I was glad to get this word because I had been surrounded by kindness the entire competition, so it was easy for me to explain its significance. After the top 15 got a chance to answer their question the judges left to decide the top five. When the judges announced my name, I was filled with so much shock and gratitude. After the top five and other queens got their pictures taken, I was escorted directly to my next interview. These interviews could last as long as the judges deemed fit, and where to take place in front of all ten judges. It was a little daunting at first but I got the chance to talk to the other finalists while waiting on my interview, and the 2023 Queen. This was a welcomed distraction. The interview was a deeper dive into my application and I got the chance to talk about a lot of my passions. After all five girls were done with their interviews we were allowed to go to our room to sleep. The next day was going to be long, so I was excited to rest, but I was even more excited to see that my first and second attendant Olivia and Madolyn were waiting to congratulate me. I got to have some girl time with them and unwind before I crashed for the night. The next day consisted of walking around the trade show and meeting so many fascinating vendors. That night Rebekah-2023 Queen- treated the top five and families to a nice dinner. After that we were free to do whatever. The next morning was when they announced the winner. I was honored with the title of Third Runner Up. Overall the competition was an experience I will always be grateful for. I met so many interesting people and made some great friends. It was an honor to be able to tell so many people about our small county and awesome fair. These are memories I will cherish forever, even when my reign is over and my life moves on.
